July 12, 2010 - Mt Rainer - Near Olympia, WA
Mt Rainer appeared and disappeared as we rode form Olympia to Paradise. When we arrived at the Henry M Jackson Memorial Visitor Center the clouds had rolled in and the view of the mighty Mt Rainer was less than spectacular. We did see some Mt Rainer from a distance. Our pictures are below.
After the ride to Mt Rainer we were invited to have dinner with Rob & Cindy Johnson. We had met them while camping near Eureka, MT a week earlier just before we rode north into Canada. Rob & Cindy also ride a Harley!

July 13, 2010 - Northwest Harley Davidson Olympia, WA (Lacey, WA)
It was time for an oil change. We headed to Northwest Harley Davidson in Lacey, WA, early in the morning. We did not have an appointment. Brian at the service desk took our information and said he would get us in as soon as possible.
Brian got our Harleys in quickly and they were ready in record time. The price was very reasonable and the oil change included a bike wash!
Our thanks go to the staff at Northwest Harley Davidson for their great service. Every customer we talked to at the dealership that day had the same positive experience.
We encourage everyone living in the Olympia area or traveling through Olympia to stop by Northwest Harley Davidson. Oh yes, Northwest HD also has a snack bar with excellent food at reasonable prices if you want to have lunch while hanging out at the dealership.

July 14, 2010 - Bruce & Delores Alberts
We headed north out of Olympia to make the loop around Olympia National Park on highway 101. That took us to the very northwest corner of Washington so we could start heading south along the coast as we continued on highway 101. We took a side trip through the HOH Rain Forest. That was very cool. The drive along the coast of northern Washington was a great ride. We ended the day at Bruce and Delores Alberts' vacation home in Ocean Shores. Bruce & Delores had a wonderful dinner waiting for us. They were wonderful hosts for the evening and Bruce cooked up a full breakfast for us the next morning. Bruce is our second cousin.
July 15, 2010 - Astoria Column in Astoria, OR
After leaving Ocean Shores we again headed south to riding to Pacific City and stayed at the Woods County Park for the evening. This was a 225 mile ride day which included a stop at the Astoria Column in the city of Astoria, OR. The Astoria Column overlooks the Columbia River which empties into the Pacific Ocean.
July 16, 2010 - Gold Beach, OR
The ride to Gold Beach included a stop at the Yaquina Head Light House. The ride along highway 101 included many great views of the ocean, sea lions, waves and high cliffs.
July 17, 2010 - Eureka, CA
We continued our ride south on highway 101 in California. Darrel is coming out of Burger King after stopping for a coffee break. Having the correct tasting coffee is very important to Darrel. Burger King coffee is one of the few fast food places that meet the favor test.
We camped in Eureka CA in KOA Campground. This was one of the very few KOA campgrounds we stayed at while traveling. We preferred National Parks whenever possible.
At the Redwood Harley Davidson dealership Lee Bought Grey Long t-shirt.
