10 States & 2 Canadian Provinces
Darrel Alberts starts the trip solo in Token Creek, WI on June 22, 2010, and rides to Maple Grove, MN to meet up with Lee Alberts.
Together we head out early on June 23 for Britton, SD and plan to stay over night with Melvin & Doris Alberts. Once we leave Britton our plans are to camp each night. Yes, will make an exception if the weather turns ugly or camping becomes unsafe. The first camping night will be near Interior, SD in the Badlands National Park. Then we head for the Black Hills. Two or three days in the Black Hills and then on through Spearfish, SD, Belle Fourche, SD to Billings, MT.
From this point on we have a planned route that Darrel carefully mapped out, but we expect to take a number of side trips. So from here on out I will be adding pictures and reporting on the adventure as it happens. Darrel plans to keep notes each day as well. We will update this web site as often as possible. Once or twice per week sounds about right at this point, so check back often and see what we are up to and how two guys are doing on our first long distance multi-week adventure.
For pre-ride details you can also check out the "Our Route" section. This section includes some maps and other information regarding the different regions of North America that we are visiting. And don't be bashful about leaving us a comment in the "Your Comments" section.
